Strong Vincent and Cathedral Prep were the two best teams in Region 6 last year and it looks like they will be again this fall. Region 6 will expand in 2010 as DuBois will join District 10 for football only. The Colonels seem to keep reloading each year and will be a contender in Class AAA despite losing playmakers like Deonte Flemings, Robert Joyce, D.J. Barney, Brandon Marlow, etc. The Colonels’ defense and offensive/defensive lines didn’t lose a ton of players and should be strong again. The Ramblers are back under coach Mike Mischler and could give Vincent trouble this season. Prep all-around athletes Shyquawn Pullium and RaSean Thrower will be utilized in different ways and could be the keys to Prep’s season. The 2008 D-10 Class AAA final was all-Region 6 and it very well could be again this season. Vincent advanced to the PIAA semifinals but fell to playoff-rival Thomas Jefferson.
